Internships
Intern Program
Interns for the Medfield Town House provide a vital service to our town. While some interns specialize in a department or project, others help out wherever their assistance is needed. Together with town officials, our interns have created the town Hotline Against Hate, audited accounts, published financial reports, written press releases, aided in salary negotiations, updated and digitized town records, and helped keep our government running smoothly.
Why be an intern?
Very few high school students are aware of how their local government works and what opportunities their town can provide. While some get involved, they must actively search this out. This program aims to introduce both high school students to the various functions of a civic government as well as provide the town officials with input and labor from a constituency they aren’t reaching currently.
Interns working at the Medfield Town House will learn valuable skills that will help them in their professional lives, as well as giving them an in-depth look at how our local government runs. This program is open to any high school or college student looking for a way to serve their community. Hours are flexible. We aim to create active and aware citizens.
