FEBRUARY 2024 - TOWN HALL - ATTIC INSULATION PROJECT
At the start of 2024, insulation was installed in the attic of Town Hall. Installing insulation improves energy efficiency by reducing heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer, leading to lower utility costs. It also helps maintain a comfortable indoor environment and supports sustainability goals.
January 2025 - Town Hall - Carpeting Replacement Project
At the start of the new year the existing carpeting (over 30 years old) at Town Hall was replaced with new carpet tiles. The project was scheduled in four phases, completed off hours to avoid disruptions to day-to-day operations. Carpet tiles are the new industry standard, designed for durability, comfort, and ease of installation & replacement.
JANUARY 2025 - TOWN HALL - INTERIOR PAINTING PROJECT
The main entry vestibule, the rear entry vestibule, and both stairwells were painted. The work included painting doors, windows, trim, and clear coating the wood railings. Interior painting is important because it enhances a space's appearance, protects surfaces, and can positively influence mood and property value.
MAY 2025 - Town Hall - Exterior Painting Project
In the Spring of 2025 portions of the Town Hall were painted including metal doors and frames, railings, light poles, and wood doors. Painting of these elements is important for the long term to extend their lifecycle and protect from the elements. The wood doors were sanded down and a new clearcoat was applied to protect the wood.
August 2025 - Town Hall - Exterior Window Replacement
At the end of the summer 2025, fifteen new exterior windows were recently installed at the Town House. The majority of this project was funded through the Department of Energy's: Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG). Window replacements are expensive, and this grant provided an opportunity to have a portion of the Town House's 25+ year old windows replaced. The new windows will improve energy efficiency and occupant comfort at the Town House.
